A recent lockdown build with end goal other than to have some fun!
The Saeco colour scheme Cannondale Caad7 is a monumental piece of cycling history from an era where many pro's had already adapted to the reality of the benefits of full carbon frames.
The frameset was acquired through a contact in The Netherlands, equipped with a matching Custom Sprayed Enve Fork and Pro Evo Integrated Handlebars. The frame itself is that of ex-pro Gorazd Štangelj (now D.S for Team Bahrain Victorious) from the 2003 season, identifiable by the top tube name tag, custom geometry and BB30 bottom bracket which only featured on the team bikes at the time.
Finished off with Dura Ace 9000 and a Lightweight Standard III wheelset, the setup is a blend of new and retro, ensuring a timeless look, rather than a totally modernized approach to the build. The build was finished off the build with polished silver JRC livery, a personal favourite colour to ensure the frameset stays heart and centre of the build and doesnt get lost with too many other loud colour-runs.
The end result is below, with a finished weight of 6.5kg and quite a striking finish to say the least.
