Refund Policy

Returns — our 45-day policy

We offer a 45-day return policy, which means you have 45 days after receiving your item to request a return. This is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights (including the EU 14-day right of withdrawal described below).

To be eligible for a return under this policy, your item must be in the same condition that you received it: unused, in resaleable condition, with absolutely no marks or scratches. If the outer packaging is broken, that's no problem. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

You are responsible for the cost of return shipping, which is non-refundable. Please contact us before sending anything back so we can look out for your parcel and process it promptly on arrival. If you are returning an item over €50.00 in value, we recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Fitted or used items — diminished value

Please note that items which have been fitted or used are no longer in resaleable condition. In particular, mounts that have been fitted to a stem or handlebar will carry clamp marks from the bolts, even after a single installation.

Where an item is returned with marks, scratches, or other signs of fitting or use, we will assess the diminished value of the item — that is, the difference between the price you paid and the value of the item in the condition it was returned in. This deduction will be applied to any refund and, for fitted components that can no longer be resold, may be up to the full purchase price.

If you are unsure whether a product will suit your setup, please contact us before fitting it — we're happy to help you check compatibility first, while the item is still returnable.

EU 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you (or a third party you nominate, other than the carrier) take physical possession of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us — JRC Components, Main St, Ballineen, Co. Cork, P47 XK61, Republic of Ireland; info@jrc-components.com — of your decision to withdraw by an unequivocal statement (for example, an email or a letter sent by post). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your communication before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (but not any supplementary costs arising if you chose a delivery option other than our least expensive standard delivery), without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied evidence of having sent the goods back, whichever is earliest. We will reimburse you using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, and you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

You must send the goods back to us without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day you communicate your withdrawal. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

Liability for diminished value. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods — in other words, the kind of inspection you could carry out in a shop. Fitting a component to a bike and/or using it goes beyond this, and any resulting reduction in the value of the goods (such as clamp marks from installation) will be deducted from your reimbursement. For fitted components that can no longer be resold as new, this deduction may be up to the full purchase price.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights in respect of faulty goods.

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to purchase the correct item as a new order, and return the original item to us — once the return arrives back and passes inspection, we will refund the original order.

Sale items and gift cards

Sale items and gift cards are excluded from our voluntary 45-day return policy. For EU consumers, this does not affect the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, which applies to sale items too.

Refunds

We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved. Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method promptly on receipt of the return, and in any event within 14 days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
