Have purchased these pulley wheels previously and was completely satisfied. So, I had absolutely no hesitation in choosing this brand this time round. I like these bottle cages. I have 4 of them; two for each of my bikes. They are lighter than pretty much anything else, durable, and hold bottles. But I am knocking off three stars for the bolts (and really, ALL bolts JRC ever sends out): the bolts corrode and become extremely difficult to remove. For as much as JRC charges for their, rather premium, products, they ship some of the worst possible bolts. I have lost a bottle cage because I couldn't get a bolt out without the cage needing to be destroyed in the process. I couldn't get it out because it was so stuck in that the head stripped. I tried using screw removers, and they just bore out the head. So I tried JB Weld-ing nuts to the bolt and they just twisted off. I eventually had to take it to my LBS and get them to figure out how to deal with it. The result was needing to break the cage in order to get enough purchase on the bolt head.

Thanks for the honest review and sorry to hear you're not totally satisfied.
We would like to note a few things however from whats visible in the photo and also based on the product spec.
Firstly, our bolts with the cages are made from aluminium. Compared to a stainless bolt, these are much lighter but of course can't withstand the same high torque as a stainless bolt and caution is required to ensure they dont surpass 3nm torque approx which is more than adequate for a bolt in this area.
Coupled with this, I can see from the image quite a bit of corrosion as you have mentioned. It appears however that grease application was not made prior to the installation of the bolts which is always recommended and would stop such corrosion, allow ease of removal and prevent seizure / galling, etc.
On a note with regards to difficult removals (in general, not just on bolts), although we have no affiliation / partnership with them, we have a range of products here from a Japanese company called 'Engineer' who do bolt extraction tools. We have found them to never fail us with difficult bolt removal and far superior to any other cheaper alternatives on the market.
In any case, if your order was made within the past 24 months and falls within our warranty period, please contact info@jrc-components.com and we will get this sorted out for you, although in our opinion it was typically not classify as a warranty claim. If you have exceeded this time frame, we can offer a highly discounted cage to compensate for the one you have had to break if you would like to contact us on the same mail address. We also have stainless bolts here if you prefer to have the cage supplied with those this time around.
